About

Pink Pursuit is a non-profit organization that raises awareness for breast cancer and provides funding for breast cancer research and treatment at the Ellie-Fischel Cancer Center in Columbia, MO.

Pink Pursuit began as an event to raise money and awareness for breast cancer. It has become a foundation of sorts to help fund the mobile mammography van at Ellis Fischel. So many small Missouri communities would not have local/close access to lifesaving early detection without the visits from the MamVan.

With national funding cut, our local efforts are extremely important to keep it running. Everyone should have access to a mammogram whether insured, under insured or uninsured. We help make that possible.

About Elizabeth Schulte

Executive Director

I am the daughter, niece and grand daughter of breast cancer survivors. I have been aware of the disease since I was a child. Being faced with the possibility of becoming a patient someday myself, I decided to become involved in fundraising efforts to do my part.

Through my experience helping with events I met so many women that were either fighting the disease or had beat it that wanted to have some fun with it. Not making light of a serious subject just having some fun raising awareness. As long as I am able I will do all I can to decrease the number of people that are faced with the threat of breast cancer.

I came up with the concept for a fun trivia night and a play on words and Pink Pursuit…It’s NOT So Trivial! was born. The event was fun and morphed into more of a foundation of the same name. We have been fortunate to have had the support to still be going strong five years later. Looking forward to all the good we can do years to come!
